This Republican-led Congress has abdicated the Constitutional obligation to legislate. They pretend that renaming post offices and bike trails are the sort of work Congress is supposed to do… while postponing all decisions on major bills – such as most appropriations bills, immigration, finding a middle ground on Iraq, and many more – until after the elections.

They rightly fear that if they make these decisions before elections, they would not be re-elected. When people know what they stand for, they reject them.
